Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area

It was the day before Christmas when my love and I decided to pay a visit to Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area (A giant park located in the southwestern district of Los Angeles). It's a ten minute drive from were we live so I was very delighted by the convenience and at the same time excited to see the inside of the park for the first time.

There's a $6.00 (cash only) admission fee at the entrance which gave me the impression that we're about to enter a maintained area. We drove past a lake that had ducks in variety of colors floating gracefully on the surface of the water while a few gentlemen looked busy on their fish poles. Picnic areas are well-scattered all throughout the park. We came to a stop shortly after reaching the topmost part of Kenneth Hahn. I would say that it probably was the area with the least visitors that day. Perfect. It gave us exactly what we needed in that moment, peace and quiet.
